| Located in the Historic Center of Townsend, Massachusetts,
Cliff’s Café has been a dining icon for over
75 years. Originally built as a private residence in the
early 1800’s, the building has housed the Stewart
Sisters Restaurant from the late 1920’s until the
late 1950’s and Cliff’s Donut Shop from the
1960’s until the 1980’s. Purchased in 1984 by
the Libby Family, Cliff’s Donut Shop has grown from
an 8 seat counter to Cliff’s Café, a 54 seat
restaurant serving breakfast and lunch daily. During the
warmer months, we also offer outside dining on our covered
porch.
In 1990 Cliff’s Café began offering catering
services at the local function halls. Since that time,
our catering business has grown into one of the largest
and most respected in the area, providing services to
several country clubs, function facilities and outdoor
venues. In 2003, we added a new catering preparation area
to our Townsend location. Cliff’s Café specializes
in outdoor events. With our fully equipped trucks, equipment
and professional staff, we are able to service parties
of 50 to 10,000 people.
Dave and Caroline Libby both have over 30 years of restaurant
and hospitality experience. Their children, Jarod and
Shannon, have worked in the family business for over 10
years. Cliff’s Café & Catering has a
loyal and dedicated staff, with many employees exceeding
10 years of service with our company
2004 marks our 20th anniversary
and we look forward to many more years servicing the communities
of Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
